Assistance League of Laguna Beach is a volunteer service organization whose members identify, develop, implement, and fund ongoing philanthropic programs for specific needs of the community.

Assistance League of Laguna Beach was founded in 1952 as the Las Amigas Guild by a group of 14 original members. In 1962, it was chartered as the 29th chapter of National Assistance League®, a nationwide philanthropic organization. We are a nonprofit, nonsectarian, and nonpolitical corporation, run entirely by volunteers.

Our current membership consists of over 160 women interested in working together in a voluntary commitment to community service. At present we sponsor a number of philanthropic programs, including an Early Intervention Program for families of developmentally delayed infants, which has been active since 1976. Traditionally, the majority of our philanthropic efforts are directed towards children, families in need, and senior citizens. Ongoing evaluation helps insure that our projects remain in tune with current community needs and the interests of our members.

Income to support our philanthropic programs comes from the operation of the Turnabout Shop, located at 526 Glenneyre Street. In addition, we also host a variety of fundraising events, including an annual tennis tournament held each spring by our Los Ninos Auxiliary. We gratefully accept corporate gifts and grants from both charitable foundations and individual donors. All contributions are tax-deductible.
